Looking for recommendations...

Hey there, I'm usually a lurker and I end up reading these forums a lot, but I have some questions of my own. Recently I've joined my first shot at a band, which I've got to say is the funnest thing I've ever been a part of. I've been practicing for some four hours a day and I would consider myself a pretty fast learner. So heres my question, we're aiming the band to be a bluesy/ southern rock/ metal gig (think Clutch or Rebel Meets Rebel?). Anyway, I'm trying to be as original as possible when it comes to writing my own stuff, because I think we can all agree that anyone enjoys a band with bass lines that are actually appealing. Problem is that I really, really suck at coming up with my own stuff so far... So I've been trying to listen to other bassist for inspiration. I'm looking for a Cliff Burton doing Anesthesia kind of of style (Which I can actually play most of).

Basically, I'll take any suggestions of who I should listen to, though or any tips regarding coming up with your own stuff in this style of music.

Thanks dudes, rock on!
