Hello I´m new to this forum so I hope its the right place to post this. Im looking for some "funk" songs with a shuffle beat around 115-130 bpm to play with a band. I´m thinkin in JB "doin to death" and using this David Letterman closing as intro: Let me know some other choices in the style
"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. "634-5789" by Wilson Pickett. "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's. "Got To Get You Into My Life" by Earth, Wind and Fire. And I can't remember the name of this song, but David Letterman's band used to do it all the time...it had an intro that had a triplet figure that went: | G-F-D-G-F-D-G-F-D-G-F-D | C-Bb-G-C-Bb-G-C-Bb-G-C-Bb-G | | G-F-D-G-F-D-G-F-D-G-F-D | r-D-D-D-D-D-D-r-r-r-r-r |
Thanks for responding "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. This is corny man, I´ve played it hundreds of times, and not very funky... I would prefer to play Higher Ground which I have played just too many times. "634-5789" by Wilson Pickett. "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's. RnB tunes, not "funky" "Got To Get You Into My Life" by Earth, Wind and Fire. This is a bit better choice, but I´m not really into EWF vibe Anyone else?
