Looking for that "CHUNG CHUNG" jazzy tone?

I'd already been posting in both the string and pickup sub-forums regarding get a real jazzy tone, like those in these metal songs:

I currently have a Epiphone Thunderbird IV, stock pick-ups, and Ernie Ball Stainless Steel 100-85-65-45 strings (Or something close, if memory serves)

Can anyone suggest me a bass amp? Price limit for me is about a grand, but if you have any other suggestions, please spit them out.

I think that's produced by very new strings, and using a pick.

yep. "Your in trouble" sounds like a Jazz bass played with a pick and a bright tone.

And clearly the Ratt tone has chorus on it.

The Overkill and Anthrax tracks are with a p-bass, new round wounds, a pick, and either a cranked SVT or an overdrive pedal. Either way, you are not going to get that sound on a thunderbird. The t-bird pick-ups just won't do it.

As for an amp for that sound, an Ampeg (or anything tonally similar) will work and combine that with a darkglass Microtubes or B3k pedal to run in front of it. For speakers either 4x10-8x10, 2x12-4x12, or 2x15 all without a tweeter.

Those are p basses and p/j basses, I think the over kill n ratt were Spectors in the studio. You can get in the ball park though, fresh SS strings ( rotosound 66's , or Blue Steel's) and a pick. It's all in the attack. An 8x10 setup with either a GK or ampeg head will help also. Those are actually extremely clean tones with some fret buzz, the p/j snarls really good in the mids, you can use a pedal if you want but it's not really necessary imo.
