Hey TBer's,

I've got a Tool Tribute band forming in the Quad Cities, IA/Iowa City area, and we've hit a roadblock!

We are looking for a Maynard James Keenan to complete our lineup!

Here is our vision, a Tool Tribute that performs Ænima and newer material just as it's played on the album. We also plan to incorporate background visuals and lights similar to that of a live Tool show. Our vocalist doesn't have to dress up or "dance" the way Maynard does live, but it would be a welcome bonus for the crowd.

We ask that you try out with a minimum of 3 songs, but 5 is preferred. So far we have 12 songs polished for you to pick from and audition with, after you contact us we will send you that list. We have a PA for vocals at practice, we only ask that you bring a mic if you own one. You are welcome to sit in on one our practices to hear the music if that will help convince you or make a decision. We are serious and look forward to hearing from you!

I play in a cover band and we do several Tool songs. My guitarist/singer has no problem with Maynard's vocals and he really isn't all that great of a singer. I think you could find a singer that could do it, if you can find one that wants to.

Our drummer really is pretty talented and has been studying Danny's style for years. We're only missing some Mandala pads really. And no noone has done the vocal parts, we know the songs through counts and time sig changes. It's been pretty strenuous on songs like H., Right in Two, and The Patient. The people around us think it sounds pretty good, even the neighbors only complain about the volume :)

There's a band called Saturn Ascends that plays the Midwest occasionally that has a real good vocalist. So they exist, I know that much :D

Isn't it a bit odd to look for a vocalist on a bass player's forum? I mean, someone on here no doubt can sing, but I don't know that people here would rather do that than play bass. Not trying to flame, just seems like you'd have better luck looking somewhere other than TB.
