Looking to add a 2 10" to my combo

Hey everyone, I have a Gallien-Kruger Legacy 2-10" combo and looking to add 2-10" cab, now I have a choice of a GK CX 2-10" or a older Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 2-10" and not sure which direction to go in and was wondering what you guys think...If you have any input please let me know Thanks

I'd always try and match them as closely as possible. Otherwise they may not play nice and sound bad.

GK all day (they do make great stuff)

I absolutely respect the wisdom of matching cabs as closely as we can manage.

That being said, when I went shopping a couple years ago for an upgrade to my pair of so-so 2x10's (SWR Workingman's 2x10's), I found terrific deals on an Acme Low B2 and an SWR Goliath Jr. III at exactly the same time. Took a chance, made two different trips to the different sellers, and bought both cabs. Full disclosure: both are rated at 350 watts RMS and 8 ohms.

In this case, perhaps I got lucky. After playing a few gigs using both cabs together, I didn't have apparent phasing issues, etc. They seemed to get along together a-okay. I've generally used these in a vertical stack and even in an outdoor setting (without PA support), they've given me fantastic (BIG!) sound. As for amps, I'm using either a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 or a "louder" GK MB 500.

So I'll dwell more out in the margins and give two emphatic to the double 2x10 rig without a nod to either cab. As long as the resistance ratings are right and your two cabs are in phase, hopefully they give you some good vibrations.
