Looking to buy a good short scale bridge. String spacing is different on short scale.

Full Contact makes one for a 34" scale bass that has a design that's been highly recommended but the string spacing is off because I have a modified Bronco. It's the same design as the Badass Bridge on Fender's Marcus Miller Jazz Bass and you can see it here:

I'm looking for similar but with the correct string spacing for short scale.

Currently I have that annoying stock bridge that comes with a Bronco and uses only 2 intonation screws, two strings on each. I had to intone the G string flat and the D string sharp because no single point gives me good intonation for both... This is annoying, at best. Other ways to describe the situation would violate the Talk Bass TOS.

See the "options" box for narrow string spacing. At this point I can't tell whether I'll like the spacing.

You can find a Musicmaster Bridge online and they drop right in. It's a Bronco bridge with 4 saddles, and they are only $20. The only thing is that they are string-through, so you would either have to convert to that or drill string holes through the back.

The Musicmaster bridge is the best replacement, but if you don't want to string-through you have to drill the bridge. This is described in one of the long threads on Bronco mods.

wilkinson makes a couple of 2-saddle bass bridges with angle-adjustable saddles. if neither one fits, you could likely just take the saddles themselves and put them on the stock bridge plate.

Not only that, the baseplate of the Musicmaster bridge has a different screw pattern, no biggie but it'll require some new holes to mount it.

The intonation is inconsistent. I've unstrung and restrung several times lately as I custom fitted SPB-3 (Quarter Pounders) into this Bronco. One time it's fine, the next go-round I'll find that one string is sharp while the other is flat. At the moment the E and A strings are perfect while the D and G are flat/sharp by about "10" on the tuner.

It's not enough to be problematic, just annoying.

I'm stuck with short scale basses due to old shoulder issues but I don't mind... the Bronco started off sounding acceptable and every time I do a mod or fine tune the setup she gets better and better by leaps and bounds. A good bridge with individual intonation adjustments will allow me to fine tune her just right, and I have to wonder what it might do for the sustain over the stock bridge, if anything.

I tried ordering threaded individual saddles from Guitar Parts, but it turned out that the intonation screw for those saddles has a very unusual thread - and I couldn't find a tap to drill and re-tap the bridge to match. At the time I was trying to re-position the strings for a '51 P-bass pickup I tried in the Bronco, but no joy. I eventually took out that pickup and went to a TV Jones soapbar pickup from a Gretsch 2202, so the string spacing was no longer an issue.

0.675 and I've been looking at several that are available in that spacing. Most of the ones from Hipshot could be ordered in .675 and apparently there are a lot of them around from other manufacturers too but you have to specify that spacing or they send you .75 by default.

With the Hipshot KickAss bridge I was able to line up the strings over the center of the pole pieces over the P & J pickups on my Ibanez Mikro. I think most bridges are designed with a 34” scale in mind and the closer the bridge is to the bridge end of the neck (as on the Mikro) the string spacing will need more adjusting if you want the string to line up over the middle of the poles. Some think this is important but most seem to think it is just for appearance.
