Looking to get a beginner electronic drum kit for around £400

I would suggest the Alesis DM10 Pro kit. The sounds of the module are petty darn good, if not great, and it is very easy to use.

Hi.
I had a "Millenium" (Thomann house brand) 200 set IIRC, and for the money it was decent.
Roland, Alesis etc. used, would be a good brands to look out.

Yamaha DTXplorer. 599 here in the states. Don't know how much it is for you but it's a "beginners" price for a HIGHLY usable kit.

Alesis DM6 is a decent kit for right around that amount. Has some nice kit presets and grooves. You can also tweak the kit sounds. Also, input for an MP3 player so you can play along with tunes. Last, it has a USB out so you can control virtual kits. Comes with a kick and hi-hat pedal and two-zone snare.
The heads have decent action too for this price point. Highly recommend for beginner to intermediate. Some sells out there right now too.
