Or, you could just buy a Gibson SG Reissue or Money Bass, and be done with it. Neither require any help from an active EQ, and there ARE no bassier basses.

It's bassy. It's blue. It's got a flame maple top. It's only $795. What's not to like? BTW, the back and neck look black in photos, but they are actually a dark purplish blue.
I think it's slick, and a nice change from the usual suspects. And they say it looks great under stage lights.
