Loop Pedals

Hey,

I'm looking for a loop pedal, if that's what they're called. what do you guys recommend if I want a "bang for your buck" pedal? I saw a couple Boss one's but they were over 200$, lots of features though :)

There are two different sorts of pedals that are called "loop".
One kind acts like a mini multitrack recorder, allowing you to record a short track, and then play over it (often recording multiple passes and parts). This is a "looper", and typically will cost you $200 - some more, some a bit less.

The other type switches between "loops" that is, circuits, so that you can have different combinations of effects in your signal chain. These are generally less expensive.

If you can clarify which you want, people will be able to help you with suggestions.

Yeah I was looking for something where I can record a bass line, and then play over it, coming out of the same amp and without having to store it on a computer or something like that. I guess I'm going to have to start to save then.

I had a Boomerang+ a while back. I really dug it, it's laid out well and easy to control. The thing was pretty big though, and a touch on the noisy side.

Recently, I got a Boss RC-2 (the smallest Loopstation). There's a lot of features packed into a very pedalboard friendly size. Still pretty easy to use, but takes a little while to get used to since it doesn't have all the controls of the Boomerang... but I'll reference back to size. :)

Check out the Looper Comparison chart below. I can't take credit for it (found it on another looper thread) you might find it helpful. I did!

5sg.
