"Low end heavy" room

A person running FOH that doesn't get out of the booth to walk the room is, at best, a complete novice at it. If they've been doing FOH for a while, and don't do that, then they're incompetent. That is a very basic part of doing sound.

THIS! I’d do that religiously even at my regular club gig. FOH ends up on non prime real estate lotsa times. Even well placed, what you hear is only accurate for that spot

We periodically play at a large beer garden venue that’s located in a huge commercial greenhouse. Concrete floors, lots of hard reflective surfaces, and it’s open to the roof panels. It booms at several frequencies, even with our small subs. We have to decrease the subs volume by about 20%, HPF vocals at 120hz, HPF bass at 100hz, and HPF the kick at 80hz. In addition, I use the filter in my Bergantino SuprPre to dial back the low G on my bass as it’ll ring in the room even with all the HPFs. That makes it manageable…
