I believe the Roscoe Beck came only with Pao Ferro fretboard, I have the 5 string clone of your 4.

Yes you are correct, sometimes referred to as rosewood
nicest board i have seen on a production line bass

Not to geek out on wood, pau ferro and rosewood are different woods.
Pau ferro, morado or "bolivian rosewood"...
Lighter color and more streaks, looks great and sounds better.

The RB V was Pao Ferro. The RB IV was rosewood.
