low frequency clipping when recording audio with Realtek audio card/drivers

I'm looking for a solution to remove low frequency clipping in some but not all of audio I am recording internally on my laptop. I have realtek audio and up to date drivers. This is a new problem.

Clipping is clipping regardless of frequency range. Either you've clipped the AD converter downstream of the preamp stage, in which case you'll get a harsh digital clipping where all the bits turn to 1s, or you've clipped the preamp which is typically a little less harsh but has a sort of "spitty" quality to it. In either case the solution is to reduce the signal feeding into the front end either by turning something down or adding a pad. If you want to remove it after it's already been recorded you'll want to look into something like Izotope RX8, but that should be considered a repair rather than a solution.

first, you'd not better record audio on your laptop's internal interface. get a cheap Scarlett/Audiobox and see what's it a difference.

second, well, bass guitar is rather a heavy instrument in low range. even if low and high notes sound at same volume to you, you'll be surprised how actually louder is the low register is. this applies not only to built-in sound interfaces, when I clip a mixer, this always happens in low register.
