Low output from my PRS SE Kestrel bass

Ok, so up until recently I have only owned either double P or double humbucker passive basses (got rid of my active basses to get this one,actually). A few weeks ago I bought a PRS SE Kestrel bass. Its a jazz style pick-up set-up and sounds really nice....heres the thing.
Whenever I play it I notice its definatly lower in volume output than my other basses. Not having owned a J style bass before I'm wondering if naturally its going to have less output being two single coil style pick-ups? It does not seem like there is anything wrong with it...all the pots work smooth, pick-up hight seems good , imput jack seems fine. Just looking for some info...thanks everyone!

I’ve found somewhat different on my Kestrel vs my Carvin; the Kestrel is louder at the same amp settings than the Carvin with two humbuckers. I’ve not compared the Kestrel to a P bass though, and I know Carvins get a bad rap for electronics, generally, so YMMV of course.

Is the situation bearable at least through a bit of a bump in the amp volume or eq settings?

Oh yeah, more than bearable, I just noticed an audible drop in volume form either of my double Ps is all.
