Low output tube amp? (Is there a mini DB751?)

60W - 6,6Kg the Offset – Bass Amplifier

The business owner is a really nice person, if you discribe what you're after he can probably give you good advices, or even propose to build a custom model

Arkham Sound 70W Amp

I have the Arkham Zephyr, which is basically the preamp section of that amp in a rack-mount package, love it.

And there's always the Ashdown Little Bastard / CTM-30. I have a CTM-30 and use it often for gigs where I don't need to fill a large room all by myself. I can turn it up to where it starts to get that sweet saturated tube sound.

I would expect the Master on a DB751 to work just fine to lower the volume.

There are plenty of lower power tube amps, but they are not voiced like a DB751. Ashdown has made several models. There are various versions of the LB30 and CTM30. Also the Little Stubby and LB30 2N. I own a Mk1 LB30, Mk2 LB30, and a Little Stubby. Each has a unique voicing. My guess is the Ashdown LB30 Mk2 (UK Custom Shop), will be closest to the DB751. It has really big lows, which is a DB751 hallmark. The overall voicing is not exactly the same though

The CTM30 was said to be the same as the LB30. But what I have found the Mk1 and Mk2 LB30 have different tone stacks and different voicings. Also the Mk2 has a choke in the power supply that I believe changes the amount of headroom in the preamp. The Mk1 preamp distorts easier, and the Mk2 is clean and more HiFi sounding. There are various versions of the CTM30 as well. I don't know if the match the voicing of the LB30 Mk1 and Mk2, or if they have their own mojo going on.

Ampeg also offers some small tube amps including the PF20T and PF50T. I own a PF50T and it is very Ampegy.

Aguilar made a DB359 that is 200W which should be voiced about the same as the DB750. So slightly different than the DB751. The DB359 was built into a very deep 2-rack space package. It's fairly heavy and an awkward carry. Also, it's still a fairly loud amp.

I love playing bass through my tweed deluxe clone. Its a guitar combo, 15 w of tube glory with a open back 1x12 cab, but at low volume sounds great.

Anyway, I think tone and volume are closely related. You can't really get the tone of a loud amp at bedroom level.

Aside from my THD Univalve amp that I use for really low level amplification, I have a tube component setup with either an old Demeter VTB or a Frenzel tube preamp, into a Fryette PS1 which can do double duty as a reactive attenuator or power amp - 50 watts. The combo is about the weight of a SWR Bass 350. I also have a Peavey 50/50 tube stereo amp which can run as bridged mono 100 watts. Both power amps are plenty. The Peavey I think is an ultralinear design because it is powered by 8 EL-84s and should really only deliver 60 watts but it is clean even at 80% of the master

I have a DB359 & a DB750 and they have slightly different voicings, to my ears…

In my opinion the 359 is more modern sounding whereas the DB750 is more gritty sounding. The DB359 is pretty deep, I had to order a custom case for it. They weigh about the same and because the 359 is fairly deep it it is an awkward carry if you don’t have a case w spring handles.
