low tension flats.... kinda

Another vote for the TI jazz flats. Don't cheap out or you'll miss an unbeatable string option. I just pulled out a used set that had almost a year on them, sat gathering dust for another couple years, and put them on my Dingwall Super PJ 4. Like coming home after too long!

Smooth, quiet, soft and slinky, with beautiful woody sound.

The TI's will outlast other sets three to one, what's too expensive about that?

You wouldn't drink cheap scotch, would ya?

I have to go with the TI Jazz Flats too. I've tried several brands of flats and nothing even comes close to them (IMO) in terms of their tone and how long they last. They have a very low tension rating for flats and are easier to play than any other I've used.

I agree; they have a tone & feel like no other. I'm another one who, when I first began using them 10 years ago--and that set is still going, on one bass--had the feeling, "I'm home!"
