Hello all,
I am regretfully selling this beautiful LowEnd 5-string bass. Brian Barrett (the builder of this bass) calls it a "Super P" due to the setup of its neck pickups. It has an outstanding nitro coral finish and features a cocobolo fretboard, alder body, and 3-piece maple neck, as well as Hipshot tuners, a Hipshot A-style bridge, a brass nut, and locking strap holders. Besides the finish and fretboard, the thing that really makes this bass special is the pickup design. The bass has three of the Benevente Slim Dual pickups specially built for LowEnd by Kent Armstrong. The bridge pickup is in the 70's J-bass position, and the two neck pickups are centered on a p-bass pickup position. The switch selects either one or the other of these pickups, or selects both at the same time in series. This configuration offers a wide range of tonal possibilities. The other controls on the bass are a volume knob that also controls active/passive as a push-pull, a blend pot for the neck and bridge positions, and Brian Barrett's 2/3 band LowEnd preamp, with the mid control activated or deactivated by a push-pull on the mids pot. The bass weighs in at around 9.8 lbs. It has minor wear from previous owners (see the pictures), but none of which is noticeable except upon close inspection. The back of the neck is undamaged and feels great.
I don't really want to sell this bass, as it packs a serious punch with its tone and feel. But I need to generate some funds, so here it is. The price includes shipping. Please get in touch with any questions.
