LowEndLobster Bass Videos

Hey Everyone! Thank you all for sticking with me through this series! We've finally reached our final pickup... and it's not a Stingray pickup at all. We're checking out the Novak BS-DS Bisonic inside our Ray4 test platform and pairing it to our Trickfish IPA preamp. How will it sound!? The results may surprise you. Let's do this!

I really enjoyed the series my crustacean friend. Your comment at the end of the Bisonic test about the other SR PUs sounding like flavours of the SR PUs was spot on I think, based upon memory. When listening to them the first time, I think the Turner was the best*, as well as the Novak, but that's to be expected as the Novak is a single coil.

Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd spend the money on any of the MMs without hearing them in a mix. Some sounded stellar solo, but not many of us use them that way beyond practice.

* I'm going to go back and review again, but I don't think I'll change my opinion; will post if I do.

Thanks again. I enjoy your videos, except when one of you kittys appear as my female dog goes to the screen and growls, which sets off the boys.

MODcember continues with a DOUBLE mod for our Sire V7. We're swapping out the DiMarzio Area J pickups and Sadowsky onboard preamp for a brand new set of DiMarzio Sixties J pickups and the new Lusithand 800TS onboard preamp that's modeled after the GK 800RB amp's EQ section. This combo is absolutely killer!

Thank you Lobster, as always a great video. I was looking for a new preamp for my good old Fender Special Deluxe Jazz and found what I'm looking for, a very flexible but effective preamp with active/passive capabilities.

Just ordered an 800TS and waiting for it to arrive. Will try first with the Vintage Noiseless pickups installed on the bass, which I really like.

Very nice! I was playing that Sire V7 yesterday and fiddling with the preamp and the voices and having a blast. Such great tones. Enjoy!

Hey Everyone! We've finally reached the end of our Ultimate Stingray Strange Pickup Guide 2022 Edition! In this installment, we're putting all our pickups head to head in some select tone configurations to better hear the differences between the pickups, and I'm giving my final thoughts on the pickups as well as the series as a whole. Thank you all for watching and I hope you all enjoyed watching this as much as I enjoyed making it!

Hey Everyone! Today we have a brief reprieve from MODcember to take a look back and pick our best and worst basses of 2022. We'll also have a subsequent live stream today with AMP, Bully, and Jonny Dibble! Don't miss it!

Awesome. Glad to see the Klos Apollo made the grade, I ordered one after watching your review of that bass with the sole intent of using it for travel but it turns out I can't put it down - love the pickups and that neck!

Hey Everyone! Today we're kicking off the second mod series of MODcember, the Epiphone EB-0/SG-1 Mod showcase! The Epiphone EB-0 is a deeply flawed instrument out of the factory with a terrible bridge design, lame pickup, and neck dive that would put an Olympian diver to shame. We're going to be addressing all of these flaws one by one to see if we can turn the Epiphone EB-0 into something worthwhile. First off, let's do something about that 3 point bridge.... Let's go!

Hey everyone! Today we're checking out a really cool custom bass from Brubaker Guitars. This is the "Stealth Bomber" JXB-4, a custom PJ Jazz bass with some very special specs. The all-black and carbon fiber aesthetic is complimented by some incredible sounding Ulyate pickups and a futuristic hot-swappable control module. This allows the player to seamlessly switch between a passive V/V/T module and an active multi band preamp (Aguilar OBP3 in this case, though other options are availble). Let's check it out!
