The maple for that neck is so beyond spectacular!!

That top is sure something else, but I was also thinking this about that neck! Wowza!

This thing is off the charts! I've had to take a few looks to even take in it. Somehow it's more stunning than the build shots made out like it was going to be. That neck is insane, but mostly as a package I'm surprised how well it works. Love the 'B' headstock too.

If mine is half as stunning as this I'll be hella stoked. Congrats man!

I was so psyched about many things about this build, but one of them I lost sight of was the small fretwire. Soooo great. I’m gonna live with it for a while, but my gut says I may refret a couple of my bases. So glad I tried this. I don’t remember the thread where I got the idea, but I think there’s no going back for me.

He has 2 more of those necks and I snapped them up based on his description of how good this bases sounded in a text he sent me last week. They are gorgeous.

The one thing that is gonna take some getting used to is how small the gap is between the pups and the neck for popping. I think I may have to play this on a strap only.

Wow, looks great! Those woods are sick. LOTS of controls there, I'm sure that will keep you busy playing with all the tone options... Half of me would love that, the other half would always be questioning if a different settings would be better. I hope you enjoy it, looks like a lot of fun. Related questions:

What exactly is a "Filter"?

Is it finished with some kind of polyurethane or oil/wax?

Obviously a big investment, why not another [50?] for a side output jack?

For whatever reason, I don’t overall side output jacks. All my Bordwells have them on the front, as does my Wattplower and my Acinonyx.

Filter preamps are what you find on Wal and most Alembics. If you want some good Wal tones give Blood Sugar Sex Magic a listen. Or any Tool album. Paul McCartney and Geddy Lee both had Wal periods. Of my 4 30” Bordwells, 2 are passive, and the other 2 have a crazy number of controls.

How does the neck feel on this? As good as it looks?

I also got the banjo wire. Can't wait to test it out.

I liked the neck so much, I claimed the last 2 Cliff had.

The frets are awesome. Cliff is considering making them standard.
