Lyin Eyes - The Eagles

might be a bass cover on you tube,or one of the tab sites....anyone got an accurate tab for lyin eyes?

doesn't matter.....hearing what's wrong is a good way to figure out what's rightI don't trust the tab sites. they usually have many different tabs and many time they are incorrect or have very crazy fingerings.
Just a thought,if you don't know how it's played,how do you know if the tab is accurate or not? That's a really simple tune to learn by ear.
Adding to this, what may seem uncomfortable to you may be the way whoever tab'd the song is most comfortable. I find myself changing the fingerings quite a bit to suit my preferences.

The reason I don't trust tabs is that many time thse tabs seem all over the fretboard. maybe some players find jumping many frets comfortable, I don't know but there are many song where I take the tabs ane rearrange the fingering.
Many times they are jumping around on the fret board, for no good reason. I remember one song where they had it tabbed playing from the 7th fret on the E string (a B) then the next note was the 1st fret on the D string. It was much easier to play the 2nd fret on the A string (B) then the 1st fret on the D string. (or use D# on the A string).
I was taught to play " in the box " when possible, and don't remember when i could not make this work.
I find it hard to believe that the artist who played these songs was jumping around on the fretboard like crazy. In fact if you watch the original videos, they don't jump around at all (I don't think they were lip sinking).
This is from Bass Camera. I have no ideas as to its accuracy.

Just keep in mind that no 2 notes will sound exactly the same when played from different positions. Jumping to a far-away note instead of the closest one, might be to obtain a specific sound. Or to be closer to the preferred position of an upcoming chord. Or to slide to a note on the same string. Or one of a gazillion other reasons. Do what works for you, but don't be too surprised if 5 years down the line you play chords totally different (or at different positions) from what you do today.
Playing in the box is great - just take care not to tie your options down in a box...

years ago, someone here posted why the TAB for "Badge" had the opening figure using only the "E" & "A" strings (w/ a shift)...when the entire figure coulda been played 'in position' over the "E", "A", & "D" strings (I'll admit that's how I learned/played "Badge" back in the HS garage band daze).
Years later, listening a little closer to the recording, Bruce is clearly using only the "E" & "A" strings...you can hear the difference with the heavier string played higher up the neck. Same pitch, different tone.
I would say the "Professionals" that TAB out tunes for published books are usually putting the numbers where the note was actually played. The Internet TAB-sters do not.
