M9/M13 Tricks

hey mr cybersnyder! have you tried
1) Smart Harmony +12
2) Synth-o-matic- 1st wave
3) Ebs octave 100 wet
makes the more outlandish synth patches usable! the synths REALLY do seem to prefer a440.. if you have a clean hand and a tone knob i suggest you try it out!
i used to use the BassXT pro, and i REALLY like the synths on there but i refuse to have the shortboard on at the same time as an m13 +XP, 4 dirt boxes, wah and my alesis.
it surely contains the same type of moddeling, seeing as the patches overlap onto each others formats, but then i am reminded that the bass pod XT "couldnt" learn the guitar XT models but the guitar could the bass, either due to less storage memory on the bass or it simply being unprofitable.
hell id even pay to have the bassxt models into my m13 ala a model pack.. i could even use the money from selling the xt to buy it.

Complete guess, but the product manager is Rich Redken who is a bass player and regularly uses his M9 for gigging. There isn't a lot more to add for guitarists so a few things that are already in Line 6's bag o' tricks like the bass driver, bass synth from the low down series, OC-2 model, bronzemaster would make great additions to the M series. These should be fairly easy to add, at least I would think they can easily transpose their models from one platform to another. Add an EBS bass comp model and maybe a two band comp and the M series is a lot better for bass.
But just a guess, I have no inside info at all.

Racking my brain trying to decide whether or not to go with an m9. I don't use many effects; filter, fuzz, octave and phaser. I'm thinking of consolidating these into one unit cause I only use them now and then. The pitch shift features would be fun to use too, gah I can't decide!
well, maybe this can help you:
octave: the M9 octaver sounds really cool, but not like an OC-2, so if you *need* that "classic" sound, it's not really there. but it's a great octaver than can be used for most applications.
fuzz: the distortion/fuzz sounds can be dialed in to sound good/OK, but it will take some time. there's no option to blend in with the clean signal, but they have EQ available. dedicated pedals sound a lot better, though (IMO).
filter: the filters have certain sounds available that sound cool, but they don't work well with the normal output levels of a bass. you need to work around that using the volume effects available in the M9, but that uses up the 3 available slots very fast.
phaser: i never used a "real" phaser, so i can't make a comparison, but i like the sounds available in the M9.
so all in all, i wouldn't make the jump to M9 in your situation.
i would use 4 carefully selected single effects. in fact, that's what i do. i use my m9 mostly for delays/reverb and some more exotic effects combinations (synthy lead sounds, etc).
IMO, it depends on how you use your filters/ fuzzes/ phasers. They are pretty good effects in there, but they won't respond exactly like your singles. I like the fuzz face model quite a bit, but I don't care as much for the muff model. I would really suggest getting to a Line6 dealer if you can and check it out to see if those sounds are up to your particular snuff.
If you can't do that, then probably pass unless you see a deal you can't pass up.

Sorry, no pics. I helped friend of mine with his PT pro. We used cable ties to attach M9 power supply underneath it.
Sorda...you can save scenes so you can go from one scene to the next scene and depending what effects are last active in each scene, those effects will be on when you switch scenes. So yes it's possible.

Yep, save a scene with all the effects bypassed and that will become your one stomp bypass. The only problem with that is that your delay and reverb patches won't trail they'll just cut off.
Yes, correct. This is the only way I know how to do it. I've never had the need so I haven't figured out an easier way to switch scenes (if there is a way).
If you set it up so that each button is a scene, you can tap between all off and effect on by pushing any button.

Just for further clarification, this would sort be like using each scene as an effect in itself? You can't have two scenes running at once, correct?

is there any way on the m9 to have it so that after i tweak the knobs and disengage the effect it will revert back to the saved peramiters of the model. hope that made sense
