I own and use both often actually, but I do prefer the mac, there's a few pc programs I can't live without.
What kind of stuff are you trying to transfer?
I don't understand why you can't move all your data to external drives, no transfer needed. Your computer should not be used as data storage device anyhow. Keep everything on external exfat formatted drives (windows and mac compatible), backed up multiple times.
