"Gription" is coming into favor, as in "Wow, this Pops rosin gives my bow a lot of gription."
I think Merriam Webster just came out with their annual list.
Here it is:
1. ginormous (adj): bigger than gigantic and bigger than enormous
2. confuzzled (adj): confused and puzzled at the same time
3. woot (interj): an exclamation of joy or excitement
4. chillax (v): chill out/relax, hang out with friends
5. cognitive displaysia (n): the feeling you have before you even leave the house that you are going to forget something and not remember it until you're on the highway
6. gription (n): the purchase gained by friction: "My car needs new tires because the old ones have lost their gription."
7. phonecrastinate (v): to put off answering the phone until caller ID displays the incoming name and number
8. slickery (adj): having a surface that is wet and icy
9. snirt (n): snow that is dirty, often seen by the side of roads and parking lots that have been plowed
10. lingweenie (n): a person incapable of producing neologisms

fantasmic...a word made up of fantastic and something else

oh, and Spoo. as in 'oh spoo, im playing the wrong movement'

Is there some way to seperate the neologisms from the colloquial pronounceations? Cause "hella" isn't really a made up word, any more than "prolly" or "ardy" (as in "I would tell you to look for your bass in the rehearsal hall, but you prolly ardy looked there.")...

also, a cruder variation is good for emphasis:
abso-effing-lutely,for instance.
this technique works better with standard words, though. if you try to get too tricksy, you'll just confuzzle yerself, and things will get fugly.

That feeling I get when the music director gives me the church choir number about 2 minutes prior to performing (everyone else has been playing it for the last 8 years); that starts in Eb, at 120-140, with 5 endings, 3 codas, a lemon twist, key change to Db for 2 bars of 3/2 and then back to 4/4....dumbo airy gotta, mr. rubato...and I can't cuss cuz i'm in church!!

I like to just make up my own. Usually it starts as a bastardization of another word. Lately I've been saying "conforbelated", meaning something like "confused, chaotic, or disorderly".
I overheard my three year old son when he made up a word of his own, so he could kind of insult my six year old son while not breaking any of the rules we have at home. The word was "dilliot", as he said "you dilliot!"

How about "unravel"? Maybe the most misused term in the English language. Most people use it to denote an act of detangling, but the word "ravel" is actually the correct term. To unravel would be to tangle.
