Double Bass magnetic+piezo wing+ clicky possible?

If you’re going through all that trouble, I highly recommend the Two Notes Le bass for driving the humbucker. I tried something similar for my rockabilly work and the potential is pretty amazing if you’re willing to deal with all the extra chords and knobs and stuff.

The way my Vic's Model C bridge wing / fingerboard piezo stereo pickup system works, you'd need a blending pre-amp for just that set of components which produces a blended mono piezo signal.

Then you'd also need something to blend that mono piezo signal with the magnetic signal.

It's do-able but it can become complicated -- maybe more complicated than necessary to acquire the sound of the slap.

Best of luck with whatever direction you select!

Were you thinking of using all three pickups all the time? I've done a setup where I had a magnetic, a piezo bridge and clicky and just ran one of the magnetic or the bridge into one channel of the K&K and the clicky was always hooked up.

Or if you want all three, the least messy would probably a traditional piezo setup with the on-board preamp mixer and then take the output of that and the magnetic to a single stereo cable with an insert type cable and then do something with the two signals at the other end.

... if you’re willing to deal with all the extra chords and knobs and stuff.

For me that's the issue: I can remember being on stage and having the whole band wait while I was trying to figure out where my signal was going wrong. Ultimately, for me it wasn't worth the hassle.

Hi Guys just wondering if it possible to have all 3 running i like blending the piezo wing with the magnetic but would like a clicky and advice would be welcome.

I'm currently running exactly this. I run the piezos into a Shadow preamp, and then run that signal into one side of a Radial Bassbone preamp. Also running a Krivo magnetic pickup into the other channel of the Bassbone.

The only issue with it is the instrument cables. In previous attempts I just got a pair of instrument cables and taped them together but it was awkward and weird on stage. I wound up going to Rattlesnake Cables and having them make me a custom two-channel instrument "snake" that seems to work better.

You can run dual wireless dongles.

I've done it with my DB: 1 wireless dongle from my wing/fingerboard piezo blending-preamp system, and 1 wireless dongle from my mounted mic. If I were running a Krivo instead of the mounted mic, it would work the same way.

Most wireless dongles secure their wireless channels after scanning out competition. Nowadays, these devices are extremely affordable.

I highly recommend wireless, even with just 1 cable DBs. Cables on the floor and DBs don't mix well.
