Double Bass Mahler I. 3rd movement

Here is my new favorite version. I think Lorin Maazel with the New York Philharmonic is amazing but this has a chamber music quality. Very exposed! This is not about the bass solo, there are much better ones out there but I love the louder than usual pizz later in the piece. It gives everything else context and "air".
Also, there is usually a bit of tug-of -war at the beginning of different sections, this kept to minimum here, maybe because it's a smaller sound and they listen to each other like in a chamber group. Perhaps I'm just a proud Hungarian (full disclosure). Educate me please!
