Making an active MIM jazz passive?

I have an electronics question for the big brains here...I'll try to ask this in a sensible way.
My bass situation is: 1 active USA fender jazz, 1 active MIM fender jazz, 1 passive squier VM 5 string.

I'd like to have my bases covered (forgive the pun) so i can have an active 4 string, a passive 4 string and an active 5 string (then maybe i'll be content..HA, yeah right!). My question is: Can i put the squier control plate into the MIM and make it passive? Is that a simple soldering swap-out?

The 5 string is kind of my 'mod bass' -- i upgraded the bridge, added some Basslines pickups and I'd like to get an Audere to make that one active. So the control plate will just sit unused.

Thanks everyone!
