Blue Oyster Cult's early stuff is awesome.
Not sure what you're listening to but I sure love Agents of Fortune, especially Tenderloin and Morning Final.
The later stuff's not too bad, either, IMO
City on flame with rock 'n roll..
you can't beat don't fear the reaper though
I don't know...not quite enough cowbell.
INDEED!!! BOC's first few albums and the live "On Your Feet or On Your Knees" were bonafide classics! I mean, who else could pull off a delicate balancing act of prog, heavy biker rock, lowbrow humor, sci-fi/fantasy/horror imagery and kick-ass rock & roll the way these guys did!
Great minds think alike...
EDIT: I can't believe no ones said anything about 'Godzilla'!
He picks up a bus and he throws it back down... classic!
+1 to the +1.
That's the problem with BOC, first I heard Don't Fear the Reaper... meh, the "proggy" part is awesome... but meh. Then Godzilla... cheesy, awesome riff, but still..
Their other stuff rules though
I'm assuming you mean the lyrics, and maybe the 'God' 'Zilla' call and answer stuff. What, you don't like cheese? I think it's fun.
To each his own, I suppose.
Oh it's fun. And I like cheese. But I don't know... it is a good song, and I rock it when it's on the radio. But when I want awesome cheesey BOC, I go for something like "Career of Evil."
Yeah, 'Career of Evil', now there's a cheesy title.
I dig em.
I really have to agree on this one very noticeable shortcoming on The Reaper....
I wore out my first copy of "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees" back in the early 80's. That album ROCKS!!!
