Manta and hot hand trouble

I've recently gotten the hot hand 3 and I've been following the videos and instructions exactly and I'm not getting the hot hand to work with the Manta, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I'd love to help you figure this out. Does the ring itself turn on? Do you have other pedals plugged in?
