If its a typical Sadowsky Metro JJ, Im sure they are Sadowsky humcanceling stock pickups. If you pan either way and its silent, thats the set. Also, the other way to tell is the top of the HC's is kinds matte finish. The top of Roger's single coil 4 set is glossy. Those are the standard HC set that come in all the metros and NYC's. Look them up on the site. www.sadowsky.com. Prolly $125 new. Prolly get $90 used. Ive sold a couple sets in the classified here for about that. You can buy his single coils or get a set of Nordstrand nj4's. Both sound great

Here is a clip of my Sadowsky with SC's in it, both playing by itself and along with a song.

You have to download the .wav, but it might give you some insight how the SC' sound. My settings on the bass are VTC 100%, bass 65%, treble 75%. I am running it active, but I think it has a great vintagy tone. Very vintagy slap tone too.

FYI Sadowsky started a more affordable line of basses, called 'Metro', made in Japan, they are close to the NYC in sound. Imho more versatile then a Fender J-bass, easier to get a great tone out of it, even while sleeping.
