Thanks for sharing! That is the best Marcus Miller interview I have heard! It was good for him to be interviewed by someone who is not knee deep in bass. I got a great sense of Marcus Miller as a person. I have told you before that he eight months older than me, and I feel he is what I might have been like had I developed into a great musician. I just love how he seems to have gotten the most out of his ability.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. not you typical Q & A, but a great conversation .
The story of Anthony Jackson saving the day when MM missed Luther Vandross’ concert debut was incredible! It was beautiful how Luther forgave him. The fact that MM was valuable beyond merely playing bass likely saved his bacon too.
It was also good to hear explain just how key his Dad was in his success. It made me think of how my ADHD butt would never have earned a doctorate without the family support I had..
