Markbass Amps Speakon & 1/4" Jacks

Does anyone know the reason why some MB amps have one speakon and one 1/4" jack instead of two of the same? Seems odd.

I can understand that but if you are using two cabs you need one of each. Seems like two speakons would be a better way to go.

you can daisy chain cabs

I've just bought a STD 151 HR to go with my Mini CMD 121P - should I buy a speakon to go with it or will a jack do the job?

Either will work. I prefer the speakon.

Yep, it IS indeed. Both my LMIII and the Combo Amp (LMII) in my 121H combo are combination jacks, one on each, and then they also each have a plain 1/4", too.

Hmmm....... Didn't work on mine (LMIII). Maybe I need to try it again. In any case, I use the speakon jack only.

That would be really odd if it wasn't. I've got mine plugged into the combo jack as I type. I'd like to make the switch speakon cables though... Another thing on the list....

IIRC if the Speakon is a combo jack it's coloured green. Black is Speakon only.

Mine is black but I'll check it when I get home. I could be confusing it with my Genz 6.0 which I don't think has combo jacks. I'll check them both.

Okay....just checked and mine are green and they accept a 1/4" plug. Musta been my Genz that didn't.
