markbass heads

i've been searching for the perfect tone in a head for a while and have been mostly looking at the ampegs (and love the svt classic, but it is way too expensive) and more recently the markbass heads, i've played on most of the markbass heads but with different cabs and i don't like the idea of screwing up my choice because of a cab difference.

anyways, to the TBers, which markbass head do you prefer for the tone, etc.?

Perfect tone.....interesting concept. All I did was walk into Club Bass here in Toronto, had a great discussion with Dave Freeman, and listed all my criteria and playing situations to date. Before I could say boo, I was plugged into an LMII and a Berg AE112, then an LMII and a Berg AE210. I settled on the the LMII/AE112.

Two jam sessions later, one jazz using my 6 string fretless, and one blues using my 4 string, and I fell in love. I had no trouble dialing in the tone I wanted to hear. The articulation was amazing. Volume wasn't an issue, in fact, didn't even break a sweat.

My first gig with the little rig will be Saturday night, followed by one on July 17th. Should be interesting how it performs.
