Markbass Indecision

Had a 604 briefly. Liked it, but retuned it and put the money toward a 15/6 fEARful. It handled the lows pretty well and put out a shocking amount of volume. Definitely had some baked in tone color, but if it is what you are after, it does its thing nicely.

I use a Jeff Berlin combo and couldn't be happier. That thing just pounds out great tone at gig volume without blinking an eye.

I got the little mark III with a new york 604 cab, and I love the sound that comes out of these little monsters. I think it was the best choice.

Good choice. You won't be disappointed. At some point if you get a second one you will have a very versatile set up. Have fun.

Interesting, it's the only Markbass cab I've seen that didn't have those yellow cones.
I bet it kicks serious butt!

I thought the bottom end was a bit thin and lacking on the smaller 102p compared to the 102hf. Apparently a certain amount of size is (sadly) necessary to develop bass response. I also prefer ported cabs for the same reason - they just sound "bassier".

You definitely should compare with your ears the cabs you are interested in.

The Jeff Berlin conbo sounds great, but... I would suggest going with components rather than a combo. Eventually you will get bored with your cab or GAS for a different one, and you can swap around a bit while keeping the amp (or vice versa). Just get a travel bag for the LMIII so it doesn't get banged around.
