Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 Effects Loop & M87 Compressor

My bass player recently got a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800. He wanted to compress his signal so we tried an MXR M87 in the effects loop. It didn't seem to make much of a difference. After doing a little research I see the effects loop is set from the factory as Parallel. How do you guys run a compressor with this amp? Do you run it between the bass & the input? or in the effects loop modified to be serial?

Does anyone know how to change the effects loop to serial? maybe post some pics? I can't imagine it being that difficult- probably a jumper or snip a resistor...
