Does anyone have experience with their LM800tube going THERMAL?
I JUST had this issue this past weekend, for the first time! I was running my LM800t thru my MB 104HF. Eq about flat. Gain at 9 o'clock. Master at about 10 o'clock. VPL & VPF at 12 o'clock, give or take.
Running my MusicMan5 StingRay. Using a compressor for slapping.
All was fine for set 1 & 2, but it started distorting & then shutting down repeatedly throughout set 3, rendering the bass SILENT in many of our highest energy show-closer songs, where the bass is very needed and prominent!
If the head has a protection circuit that shuts it off without warning, I may need to buy another head. I've had this for 3 years and have loved it. But ...
Any help would be appreciated.
