Markbass LMK Just Died? Help!

I was in the middle of soundcheck when my Markbass LMK just lost power. It was as if a fuse had blown but I don't think these heads have fuses? It will not turn on, no power, no lights to indicate power and I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing or has any ideas? It would help to hear from some tech savvy TB'ers! Gracias!!

I presume you tried a different power outlet elsewhere, and swapped the power cable?

Does it power up with the speaker cable disconnected?

It does have a fuse below the AC plug .

ya know something similar happened to me w/ my LMII - the amp would shut off. odd, always on the first tune of the night (even in the same spot of the song! - my slap solo of course ) happened 3 different times (3 different venues, one of which I've played before). but would turn back on after I shut down and turned it back on. . .

Often the fuse is inside the power connector. There should be a little tab to pop open to reveal the fuse. Check the manual, and be careful not to force anything when you try to access the fuse---you don't want to break the fuse holder.

The attached picture shows a typical fused power connector. Yours may be different, but this gives you an idea of where to look.

Thank you Rick and Paul!! That's it...a blown fuse! That is the first thing I thought of but because of the location and barely visible markings I couldn't locate it. Another TB success story!! Hopefully this will help others with the same issue in the future!

When you buy a replacement fuse, keep a couple of spares in your gig bag. Having spares seems to guarantee that you'll never need to use one!

Update. The LMK uses an 8 amp 125 volt fuse. So far I have been to Radio Shack, Guitar Center, and Home Depot and none of them carry this fuse. I will post a solution as soon as I find one.

That fuse holder actually has a spare located inside of it , check and see

http://www.action-electronics.com has them. You can use a 250v fuse; the voltage rating is the max allowed, so on 120v it's fine.

You can probably go with a slow-blow type, unless the manual says no to.

Ok....The Saga Continues as they say....When I turn the amp on it is blowing every fuse that I put in. The light never comes on at all, just flip the power switch to 'on' and pull out another blown fuse. Any ideas?

Try powering without a speaker cable, just in case it's a problem with the cable or cab.

If an amp blows fuses, it needs repair.

Failing that, your output stage is probably toast. If you still have a warranty take it back to GC and get a new one. No warranty then to an authorized repair centre.
