I have been lurking these threads trying to learn enough to have a little confidence when buying my first rig. I know that the biggest difference between the LMII and LMIII is the DI but I also seem to recall reading that many didn't think that the LMIII sounded as good as the LMII. Is there some truth to this or is it just another one of those things that people generally agree to disagree about.

Also, I have read comments that allude to a 'well known issue' with MB heads and 8 ohm loads but I have never run across this well known issue. What is it?

Don't quote me on it but I think there might be a change in the midrange frequency on the LMIII in comparison to the LMII.

The only thing that I have noticed between an 8 ohm load and a 4 ohm load is that, at least as far as my F1 is concerned, the 4 ohm load is alot more " in your face " as compared to an 8 ohm load. It gets louder quicker. I really think these heads need to be used with a 4 ohm load for them to really do their stuff, but I'm sure the tech gurus will poo poo this comment.
