MarkBass reliability poll

Just curious to see how many TB'ers that have owned MarkBass gear had to wither swap it out or get it fixed at some point in it's life. Please don't vote if it doesn't apply (forgot to add that one oops). Mods if you have the ability add the "does not apply/carrots rule" option. Thanks.

I think you should specify how long the ownership has been. I've only had my LMII for a month, and haven't had any problems yet. Obviously I'm not going to vote though, as a month's time of ownership hardly says anything about reliability.

I have one now and I had to vote for the swap one out item because the speakon jack on mine is flacky and I'm getting it exchanged. Aside from that, it's problem free. It's prob just a bad jack (not Mark Bass's Fault) or a cold solder...

I've only had mine a year-LMII- & absolutely NO issues with it whatsoever. Opposite actually- it's astounded me with it's build quality, sound, versatility & power!!

I've only had mine 4 months but no problems so far.

I've had mine since early march and have had no problems with consistent use at band volumes...anywhere from two to 10 time a week depending.

I've had mine since 10-25-06 and it's been used for low volume practice almost daily, full volume band practice at least weekly and full volume gigs, with DI for FOH, once or twice a month without a hitch.

So far the nearly 13% swap/fix rate is quite high. Interesting considering how frequently I read here about how reliable MB is. Perhaps that is a baseless opinion as I suspected. Of course statistics converge as the number of samples go up and the poll could be artificially populated.

Yeah, I can think of at least two trolls here on talkbass that would pay money just to vote against MB.

I had a Little Mark II for about 10 months. I played about 20 gigs with it, transporting it in a laptop back-pack. It worked perfectly every time despite a few bumps here and there. Great little work horse amp!
I just got an SD800 in the mail today and have yet to try it out. I'm hoping to get similar reliability out of it.

I've had my LMII for a bit over a year and do about 120+ gigs/rehearsals a year. I have had to shipped off once as a "preventative maintenance" issue once. I was playing a gig and my amp went into heat protection. I didn't think it was that hot, but I guess the conditions were just right for it. Had it checked out and nothing was wrong with it..

So, I'd say its been 100% reliable. I just wanted it looked at to make sure it wasnt a serious issue.

I just got my Markbass... so I can't vote either.

But I just wanted to share part of what made me comfortable to take the leap from SWR.... I was reading an MB ad in BP magazine and the General Mgr Marco de Virgillis said something in lines of, "if you are or know someone who is a technician, I invite you to look inside our amps" - I suppose to check on the wiring and build quality, etc. That spoke volumes to me that he is willing to take the risk of someone opening up the amp... Shows they have nothing to hide and are very proud of their products. Am I gullible? I don't know, you decide. And if I am wrong, then that what warranties are for.

Anyway, had one to check out but didn't keep it so didn't vote.

Nobody wants gear that goes down but to me the service it gets if it does is just as important as the reliability of the item since 1% doesn't count for much if you're it.

Looks like everyone who has had Markbass reliability issues voted NO.

And those who haven't owned Markbass for a very long time haven't voted YES.

So this is not an accurate pole!
