Markbass

Hey folks, I really like the price on these Markbass heads, especially the Tube 800.
But.....they always sound kind of muddy:hmm:
They are all hooked up to Markbass cabinets.
(I know, hook the head up to a different cabinet)
But, off hand is it the head or the cabinets ya think?
Any experience with this out there?

I havent played a tube 800 yet but i know with my Little Mark II is does not come
across muddy at all i do have mine playing through a david eden 410xlt though

Another thing to check out is just the fitlers with the EQ some times depending on where
they are set that might be a reason why its coming through a little muddy

But i am very impressed with my markbass head a have a sansamp running through it also and it is just so versatile i know there is alot of markbass love here at Talkbass

Mod, any settings you can give me? :)

I have the lmk II and the tube 800
They are both great clean heads
The lmk II is just a little nicer sound

The tube preamplifier on 800 is a little muddy
I usually run the preamplifier mix at 12 o'clock
That's just right

I like most of the Markbass heads, but NOT the Tube 800! Its maybe the only amp that sounded like ..er....crap with my UL310. The regular MB800 might be a better choice if you need the power. Of all the small, light weight heads out now, the Tube 800 is my least liked amp. jmho
