There is only one reason I swapped my tube SVT for an SVT 3 Pro...weight. It's a good sounding amp, but nothing compares to the sound of good ol' big power tubes, IMHO. The only solid state amp that ever even came close to that great tube sound for me was Markbass, so that's what I use now.
So maybe it's your settings. How do you run your tone controls? The best results I get on the vast majority of amps I've played (and as a musician who flies and has to rely on a variety of rented amps, I've played a lot of them) is setting the tone controls dead flat. Then if there's something I'm missing, I'll either slightly boost a tone control or slightly decrease the tones I don't want.
However, it just might be that you're a solid state guy. Some people are and they hate tube amps. In that case, you will have no shortage of buyers for your CL.
