Ever since Tyson left boxing, I can't watch boxing. It's boring and it's just not worth the money. UFC though... that's a different story.

I thought the DLH VS Mayweather fight was crap! DLH looked like a hero, the other guy looked like a bum.

Heard the news about Diego today on an MMA forum. What happened, he crashed his bike into the back of a car doing 100mph?

I guess Floyd's right in that if you limited most MMA guys to strictly a boxing style, they'd get smeared in a boxing ring. What he neglects is that the reverse is true as well - I have a hard time seeing most boxers doing well in a UFC type fight.

I haven't cared about boxing for a while. I don't really follow UFC much either, but I watch it occasionally and I must say, those guys are crazy.

Well, yeah. Most MMA guys who step foot into a boxing ring with a pro boxer will get their faces mangled, but the thing is, who's a more complete fighter? The guy who does boxing, or the guy who does boxing, muay-thai, BJJ, and wrestling?

D'uh.

I have no problem with the way the DLH/Mayweather right was promoted except for the line that Mayweather is "pound-for-poun the best fighter in the world." He might be the best BOXER, but he is by no means the best fighter -- pound for pound, in his weight class, or even in the US.

Too bad he's so light, I'd love to see him against the some of the welterweights in UFC. Couldn't imagine the thrashing he'd get from Hughes.

Mayweather vs. Diego Sanchez with MMA rules. Now THAT is a fight I'd go see.




EDIT: For more disappointing so-called "super-fights," tune in to UFC 71 for Lidell vs. Jackson. At least we're seeing a fight worth promoting here, even if it is a hand-off to Lidell.

EDIT: Oh, looks like I was wrong...Mayweather really wouldn't have to go up that much to fight in welterweight in the UFC. A bit of room to get to the top of the weight class, but not much to get into it. Alternatively he could go to lightweight, and try and fend off Sean Sherk (35-2-1.) Same number of fights as Mayweather, both losses were to eventual welterweight champs Matt Hughes and GSP.
