MB LMII/III user give me a hand

I was reading around threads last night and came across one where a guy was wanting a certain sound and was more worried about his bass than the amp EQ... well I listened to the song he was trying to cop and I got bit and am trying to cop the sound as well...
Justin Timberlakes - Rock your body.

I recently just acquired a MB LMII and a Gk Neo 112 II, really dig my stock sound I have set up. How do I eq to get the bass sound in the song. I use an American Jazz with S1 switching and a MM sting ray 3 band eq. Pedal wise I use a modded Crybaby, Dynacomp, and a Modded Cot 50 for grind.

I know low mids have alot to play into it but I cant seem to get the other stuff right and I basically leave the tweeter turned off on the cab. Any thoughts?

thanks sands

That is a great, old school P Bass type tone on that cut.

The VLE is your friend with that tone. Dial it up to about 10 o'clock, with everything else flat. A slight cut in bass and a slight boost in the lower mid control should finish that tone profile off nicely. Make sure you keep the VPF totally off.
