Anyone knocking off the DOD FX32
(Meat Box) yet?
I tried the Ashdown effect, similar octave pedals, they're not the same.
Any clones or similar fx in the genre available?
I've seen the schematics floating around the DIY forums ,
anyone know of a good mock-meat I could try?
They seemed to have disappeared all of a sudden, I remember running into them quite often a few years ago. No more.

They pop up from time to time, but they are over $100 these days. I found one locally for $25, but I traded it off. But to answer your question, I haven't seen any. Ryaaaaaaaannnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!

I've owned three of the FX32's in the past. They eventually do come around again, but you will have to be patient and be willing to spend some money on them.

I think if there were a clone that was compact, had better labels on the knobs that actually explained what they did, and was true-bypass with a standard 9V jack, I'd buy one right away.

a guy in NYC called Dr Balls will clone anything fairly reasonably, been meaning to give him some business
I saw a schematic somewhere on the DIY Stompbox forum, If u google DOD meatbox schematic, the thread pops up, but u need to register to see the actual file.

I guess if there are any TBers who are handy with circuitry & want to build one, I can copy/paste the file for u, I don't know how it sounds, but it's online.
Maybe I'll try to get one built cheaply, if an FX32 doesn't come along

It uses a wierd part that I think is obsolete (and costs about $15 on ebay), and its a unique enough pedal that the market for 'em probably isnt that huge.

If you can talk someone into doing a one-off thats probly your best bet, but the price probably wont be much less if its less at all compared to waiting on a used one. Its not too complicated, pretty much a chip for the octave, and a two band eq for the lows after it. A big chunk of whats in the schematic is the switching and could be chopped off if you went true bypass.

I own a DBX-120XP and a Furman Punch-10 subsynth, both great for a kik drum and some PA processing. don't like them at all for bass guitar. I tried a Meat Box when they came out and it seemed like a more limited facsimile. I use a WhammyII and an EH bass micro synth sub duties. the Meatbox used to sell cheap, I think it's kind of overrated but I'd still buy one if I found one cheap.

Yes, the rare chip, they mentioned that on the FreeStompbox forum I read,
This guy found it on ebay, I'd imagine a clone would be slightly more expensive because of it, and who knows how accurate it is?.. Probably some reviews somewhere if u dig deeper

With all the stuff out today, it's a wonder nobody made a better stomp version yet,

Lotsa rack fx are coming out w pedal versions, it's kind if a trend lately..
the aural exciter, Joe meek floorQ etc

I did a lot of reading into subharmonic synthesis not to long ago- the peavey kosmos (rackmount)seems to get the best reviews of what was out there. I too would be interested in a better version of the meat box if someone has developed it. Something polyphonic with better tracking. Still, its an AWESOME wee tool to play with. One of my favourite crayons
