Medium (32") or shortscale basses with 24 frets?

You are correct. Not many choices there.

My '00 Alembic MK Sig Std is a 32" scale, 24 fret.

My only other 32"/24 is a vintage '86 Yamaha Motion B B-II.

Just looked up the Yamaha. Looks like a nice bass. Besides the big logo on the body. Very 80s.

There is indeed very little choice. Especially for 32" basses with 24 frets. I think I prefer 32" over short scale.

Not many basses I can think of that fall into both those categories (med scale with 24 frets) . i have a MIM Urge that's been modded a bit, I really do like the bass, wish they hadn't discontinued it. I tried short scale and while very comfortable to play on, medium seems to be ideal for me.

Ibanez SRC6. But they do have narrow spacing and 6 strings. 30" and about $US800 new.

I've had 5 Alembic short and medium scales; 32" Distillate and 4 30.75", 1 S2, 2 S1 and a Clarke.

I'd rather have the ugly S1 I had over any of the others. Yes, there is enough difference in sound that I'd get an S1 if I could afford it. Ergonomics are utter crap, that's why I sold them.

Look at where the strap buttons are. Dives like a mofo. I don't like playing holding the neck up.Build it shaped like my Conklin GT5 and the smallest headstock possible and it'd be the greatest bass ever.
