for the record, we decided against a medley on "Billie Jean." Three of the members got together without the other two and created an ad hoc sort of ending of their own. In my opinion, their ending is needlessly complex but they put in some extra effort to work this out so I'm going along. This caused about 45 minutes of extra rehearsal as no one could agree what they'd decided on, or else they agreed but were describing it differently (despite the fact I wrote it all down as they were telling me the first time).
I'm fairly certain we have it down now, and there's one more practice left before our next gig. We fired our 2nd vocalist/percussionist recently and we need all the rehearsal time we can get for me and the lead singer to get a handle on singing the stuff he used to do.
