Felder's autobiography and his recounting of his issues with Frye and Henley is an interesting read.

I do have a little bit of an issue with Felder when he plainly dissembles about staying in the dungeon room at the studio in the 80's, but never having really used any illegal substances or having any extra-marital relationships.

That being said, if one tenth of the BS he says about those guys is true, they sure were a bunch of @$$hats.

You should go back and re-read Felder's book if that's your impression. I just finished my second time with it and he clearly talks about doing cocaine and how he did have extra marital affairs. The very first paragraph of the book talks about how the all had white rings around their noses as they opened the show with Hotel California in the 70's.

"We could hear the rumble of the crowd in the dressing room. It sounded like a thunderstorm brewing somewhere far above us. As we emerged one by one from the bowels of the stadium, our lips wet with beer, white powder rings around my nostrils, the rumble grew louder and louder."

Later on he talks about how a groupie he'd been with sent him a letter through the fan club, his wife read it and it almost ended his marriage. That's just a couple of examples of the many times he talks about both issues openly.

I read that book too. It remember him being pretty open about his drug use and philandering ways. I also thought while reading it that he was hard done by Frye and Henley, although it was just his side of the story.

I find it funny that for a band that had, by all reports, two overbearing controllers in Frye and Henley, there was never any one instrument or performer that was the one main focus. Lead guitar parts were shared and never went into the realm of musical-masturbation.

I'd have to say i'm a fan of the Eagles and no matter how much I hear "Hotel California", I still like it. If i had to make up a list of 10 songs i have to listen to for the rest of my life it'd be in there.
