Mesa boogie 400+ cab combinations

Hey guys,

I've got a mesa bass 400+, eden 212xlt (8 ohm), and eden 210xst (8 ohm). I'm looking to add another 210xst either 4 or 8 ohm. I'd like the 8 ohm cab so all cabs get the same power but the load on the amp would be 2.67. Is it safe to run the bass 400+ at 2.67 ohms or should I get a 4 ohm cab so the ohm load is an even 2 ohms? Thanks in advance!

Your 400+ will handle a 2.67 ohm load just fine. On my 400+, I use and recommend conecting 2.67 ohm cab loads through 1 or both of the amps 4 ohm speaker outputs.
(conecting through the 2 ohm outputs would probably be fine too, but a couple very knowledgeable amp techs I know of both say the 4 ohm taps are a bit safer with 2.67 ohm loads)

You'll have to daisy chain at least 2 of the cabs together. I'd probably daisy chain the two 2x10's together and then plug one of them, plus the 2x12's speaker cable into each of your amps 4 ohm speaker jacks.

I too would go with another 8 Ohm cab. If you do decide to get a 4 Ohm cab keep in mind that it will draw 250 Watts while the other two cabs will only get 125 each. Cheers.
