Mesa Boogie Cab - Lead Time

Hey all. I ordered a RR Mesa Boogie 610 on August 4, 2008. At the time I placed the order the dealer told me that he had just spoke with them and the lead time would be 4 - 6 weeks. It's now going on 13 weeks since I placed the order and my cab still hasn't come in.

Has anybody else ordered a Mesa Boogie Cab and had it take over (3) months for delivery?

i downsized from a powerhouse 1000 to a single 15 & 2/10 cab vintage style. it took about that long. i called the factory to get the real scoop. dealers always tell you that it'll arrive in a 4-6 weeks to close the sale. if i think the factory produces a number of cabs/amps at the same time, then switches over the assembly line to produce a different amp or cab - thus the looooong wait.

Last week I called the dealer where I bought it and asked if they had heard anything on it. They said, "nope we'll call you when it comes in". I asked them to call and get the status for me and they told me to call back in a week and if it wasn't in they'd give Mesa a call. I just called them again and they gave me the same line.

Sounds like a bad dealer. When I inquired a few weeks in about a different issue, they called Mesa immediately and had an answer for me and an approximate delivery date (which they met). I'd really cut out the middle man and give Mesa a call, and tell them about what you've been through with a dealer. They really care about the dealers and wouldn't be thrilled to hear how they have treated you.

Thanks for the advice. I put a call into Mesa and had to leave a message. Hopefully they get back with me. I wish dealers would be up front and honest about lead times when you place an order. I told these guys when I placed the order that time was critical and that I needed it within two months. They said "no problem, Mesa works on a rotating schedule for cabs they build and it will definately be here within 4 to 6 weeks". I didn't even call them to check on it until week (10) because I didn't want to be one of those guys that jumps on them the minute lead time is not met.

6-8 weeks is normal for typical orders, but it can be another 6-8 if you have special finishes on your cabs, etc.

Everything is made to an order. Tough to wait for new gear isn't it?

Took your advice and called the Mesa Boogie factory. The rep from customer service told me that they don't have access as to information with regards to estimated dates of completion by each customer at the factory. However, he did say that he would do some digging with the Mesa rep from my erea and see what he could find out.

Call Mesa Boogie and ask to speak to Tien. He will give you the skinny. A dealer here in Atlanta just told a Buddy of mine that delivery would be 8 to 12 weeks. This was after the sale was made so maybe it was more reliable, plus we are way over here on the east side of things.

Two months is about normal for Boogie on Big Road Ready Cabs from what I have ordered in the Past. It's not like they are setting there waiting on an order to come through to build something. Orders go into the production schedule and depending on in house orders currently pending affects how the schedule comes out on you'r order.

It can be a bit of a wait but it's worth it. Those Boogie Road Ready Cabs are built like Sherman Tanks (the old fashioned way).
