Hells yes. Love the M9. I have used one for years and bought a second for a back up.

I have not tried the WD800 yet but I think the D800+ is great. But it couldn't replace my M9.
The M9 also sounds much better with left handed basses than right handed basses too. ;)

This thread is a little more quiet than the M6 thread I see. Maybe less M9 users? I'll try to contribute as much as I can when my amp arrives.

How many folks keep theirs in 2u rack? Is 3u the way to go? I think I would prefer 2u.

I alternate between the m9 and the GK 550. I bought my m9 used and brought it to gig that day where it proceeded to emit the magic smoke during sound check....sent it to Mesa under warranty and it was reduced to 600 watts..I had problems trusting it initially so would bring a class D backup, but it hasn't had an issue since..I honestly can't tell any difference, it's loud as hell and I've played some large places w/ it. I bring it to gigs to brighten up my "darker" sounding basses and bring the GK for my "twangier" sounding basses

what would be awesome would be the m9/m6 tone stack with a 1200 watt ice module and a 3 tube front end where you could venture from clean into woolsville

At first, I went to 3U gator rack bag after having two rounds of "thermal updates" to my serial number 0000034 M9. Filled upper 1U with a screen.

Then, when I went to a ProLite 3.0 + ART pre so I could more cleanly drive two 15/6/1 fEARfuls, I pirated the 3U gator for the amp + pre, and put the M9 back in the 2U bag. It seems fine.

Hi guys, out of respect to the Talkbass family, I wanted to give you a warranty policy update in advance, so that you can finish making whatever deals you are making before it happens.

With increasing costs of materials and labor that go into our products, we find ourselves in the position of either raising prices or eliminating the transferable portion of the 5 year factory warranty. We chose eliminating the transferable portion of the warranty, so the product is now covered for the same 5 year period, but only to the original purchaser. 5 years remains the longest warranty offered by a major manufacturer.

For the "good news": There is no price increase (which is pretty good news actually).

For more "good news": To be clear, this does not affect the transferability coverage of any units already purchased, these can be resold within 5 years of the original purchase date, so there's nothing retroactive about this change.

For even more "good news" (if you can handle it), all products that are shipped from the factory before March 1st (including all stock at our dealers) include the 5 year transferable warranty and will have this information on the hang tag and owner's manual paperwork, they ARE covered under the 5 year transferable warranty. I would expect these units to be in high demand so I wanted to give you all first crack at this information.

Please be sure to verify with your dealer that your amp has this paperwork included with the amp, I want to be sure you have what you need and the customer service guys are always available to help. (Note that this change only applies to products sold within the US and Canada)

To clarify since you are located in Italy, this change applies only to USA and Canada sales. Each region outside of US/Canada has warranty terms specific to that region and its unique laws. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I can't comment specifically on any new products that may be under development, but we are always working on new concepts and ideas.

M9 came. Man, this is the best sounding amp ever! So articulate. Barely touch the strings and the notes punch you in the face. Warm but punchy and clean. Awesome sounding growly mids. Strong tight bass. I can't say enough good things. I practice my set and just keep randomly noodling because it sounds so damn good.

I racked it in my SKB Roto 4U shallow because I can't deal with the huge full depth Rack Case. I had to trim the back lid but it fits, albeit a little tight. It's nice that it hangs out the back with the lid off. You can get to everything back there much easier to see and hook stuff up. I read that trick in one of these M6/9 threads.

With the M9 on mute, is the DI still active? I'd like to practice through the M9 pre into my interface with headphones. Or is it safe to run with no cab hooked up? It would be nice to just mute it and do DI for late night practice rather than unhooking the cab but it does seem counterintuitive that the DI would be active on mute.

The M9 is a game changer for me. It only took 4 days and it's my baby. I played through the DI into my interface into headphones for silent practice tonight. The DI captures the complex tone characteristics of the amp just as well as through my cab. Maybe even more-so since I hear the intricacies better through the headphones. Outstanding. Can't wait to gig this amp and run that DI through the PA knowing it's going to sound that good.

It's way heavier and bulkier than all class D amps (but not as heavy as all tubes), it has a somewhat noisy fan for home use but man does it sound, imho, round and warm for my Jazz, fusion, prog stuff! Not to mention all the useful bells & whistles it comes with ... In the last year, in a desire for a change for my beloved M9 (you know, to jump on the class D bandwagon thingy), I went from selling it to get a Markbass Lil' Mark III head to getting a Subway D 800+ to buying a Fender 500 to try to get the M9's exceptional tone back to buying a 'new' M9. It is now coupled with a 15" and a 210 Powerhouse cab. I get thick, clear, organic tones. Unless something considerably better comes along in a small form factor, this one stays.

Zdravo! I have visited your country 3 years ago and I was amazed (fabulous beaches - strong ties with ancient Rome - friendly people), anyways, good luck with your M9 : it's such a great sounding amp.
