Mesa Boogie TT-800 Sound Clips

I had an hour this morning to step away from my stay at home dad/teacher/IT guy position to record some TT-800 sound clips.

Basically I took the 4 presets they have in the manual, recorded them directly (post eq) right into my Presonus interface and into Garageband. All tracks were done on my Passive Jazz bass with Fralin pickups.

Best to listen through headphones of course so you can hear the subtle changes in the power amp dampening.

The AGRO track is the Boogie Rock setting with my favorite setting on the Aguilar AGRO Overdrive/Dist pedal.

Hope this helps anyone considering the TT-800. If not, and you think it sucks, let me know and I'll try recording it better.

I already have the TT800 but I'm waiting on the cab. This was helpful to hear the subtle differences of the settings. I appreciate the effort- my personal favorite was R&B, which will probably be where I'll start exploring once I have all of my components. Then, it is adjust to taste as I get more familiar. just ordered my TT - What cab are you going to run with it?

I was initially going to match the head with the Mesa Subway 410. There are very few youtube videos featuring the Mesa Subway 410-- there is one comparison with the 410, 212, and 215. To me, as far as that one video presentation goes, the 410 sounded great with the 215 a close second. While researching, I also checked out videos for the Aguilar cab offerings. I actually ordered the Subway 410, but the 410 remained on backorder for over two months; the 215 was also unavailable. Alas, I didn't want to test Mrs. Yummy Notes's patience when she said get what you want, so I changed the order and got a deal on the Aguilar DB 810, which was in stock. I felt confident with changing the cab selection because of the many reviews and comments here (special thanks to @agedhorse for his guidance and support and @Al Kraft for his unbiased reviews), specifically that the TT-800 was designed to play nice through most cabs. I recently got the Aguilar (this Monday). I set both TT-800 channels to the recommended settings on p. 4, Instant Gratification. It sounds wonderful. I cranked it very briefly, up slightly past 1/2 the volume just for a moment--- IT CAN GET LOUD! More importantly, at least for me, the combination sounds great at low volume. Keep in mind, I don't gig and I don't have to move the cabinet. Although it rolled easier than I thought it would, despite its weight. I hope this was helpful.
