Here’s a MINTY Mesa Walkabout tube hybrid amp head that has been updated at the Mesa factory to include all the improvements made in later models—an active/passive input switch, an effects loop bypass switch, and the fan current adjustment resistor. The first two I understand. Would you elaborate on the nature of the third (resistor) update?

Mesa added a resistor to the positive power lead to the fan. This decreases the current and voltage to the fan and allows the turn on relay (on the same circuit) to get adequate current. Prior to this mod, in some Walkabouts the relay would not turn on promptly because it was not getting adequate current. The resistor also makes the fan run a little slower and quieter. All the later Walkabouts have this resistor.

Is there any pics, drawings, or the resistor size identified somewhere? I have upgraded my fan, but there's a dramatic pause for my relay to actuate upon initial power up. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
